About Aya
I've loved languages and different cultures since I was a child. But when I studied abroad in college, I realized something surprising — after years of studying English, I still couldn't actually use it. Speaking was the hardest part.
At the same university, I met students who were learning Japanese. Their passion for Japan and their willingness to just communicate inspired me, and teaching them Japanese became a huge source of motivation for my own English.
You don't learn a language first and then use it.
You learn it by using it.
That's why I became a Japanese teacher, and eventually created IROHA. It isn't just another Japanese course — it's a community where you start speaking before you feel ready, make mistakes without fear, and build confidence by using Japanese every week.
